How To Meet People

I love meeting new people; it truly is one of my favorite things.  You just never know when you will find an incredible person who can be your new best friend or your one true love.  It is imperative that you not limit yourself to online interaction, rather you need to “get out there” and actually meet people in your area.  Face to face, friendly interaction.

There are many different ways to make friends.  The locations to meet prospective friends or lovers can and should be tailored to you and your personality and interests.

If you are a drinker, it is very easy to meet people at your local nightclub or bar. Just be sure that you choose an establishment more suited to your style.  For instance, if you don’t like to dance, do not go to a dance club!  It is likely that someone you might meet is there because they like to dance and will still like to dance after your relationship begins.  So go somewhere that fits you.  And don’t forget that there are many places to meet people that do not involve alcohol.  Drinkers and non-drinkers alike have many other places to get to know potential friends or mates.

The gym for example is a great place to meet health minded people, or the park for people who love the outdoors.  If you enjoy reading, join a book club or visit the library.  Another great way to meet others is by taking a class at your local college or university.  If you have any type of hobby, chances are there are activities out there that will allow you to find a friend who shares that hobby.

Here is an interesting place that is gaining momentum for people looking to meet others: the grocery store.  I personally met a great friend of mine while grocery shopping one day.  It was a chance meeting over produce, but we found that we have a lot in common, plus, our children are the same age and love to play together.  So take note, you can meet someone anywhere you go, you just have to be willing and open minded.
